Can't beat the rock from the 80's. This was a great movie soundtrack. I loved Tom Cruise singing Paradise City...so awesome!!! Gee,lots of soundtracks put to musicals from that era. Can't argue there was some timeless music talents back then, for sure.

My son saw the stage show in New York and then the movie and according to him, the stage show was better. Well, if that is so, the stage show must have very very good as I have seen the movie only, about 6 times and have enjoyed it immensely. The actors were extremely good and Tom Cruise blew me away. Katherine Zeta-Jones has lost a lot of weight since her days in Chicago and I think too much. Great movie/musical. The music comes from my era as I am 68 years old.

I just watched the movie and immediately bought the soundtrack. This is one of the best original soundtracks of any movie/musical out there. If you are a fan of the 80's rock scene, then this soundtrack is a must. I really didn't believe the songs were sung by the actors in the movie, but they are! Tom Cruise does a pretty darn good job at singing which shocked me. The arrangements of the songs are superb and the musicians are top notch. Even Catherine Zeta-Jones does a great job at a Pat Benatar song! Who knew?! The "More than Words/Heaven" montage is awesome! This was a great movie and a great soundtrack! I think the cast of the movie deserves props for a job well done on the music. Usually the actors are over dubbed with actual singers, but this is not the case. A true 80's rock anthem gem!
