This album came through a blog recommendation and combines the efforts of Kimya Dawson (Juno soundtrack) and Aesop Rock for something that shouldn't work but does. Those familiar with Dawsons sparse styles and direct lyrics will be pleasantly surprised by the MC skills that are woven into her songs. While I can't completely interpret meaning behind some of the lyrics, some songs are easier to get. "Earthquake" will rattle anyone who has felt one, while "Delicate Cycles" and "Teleprompters" will invoke other types of imagery. "Tits Up' to finish will go some way to explaining those bad days. All in all a good album and something different in an often boring musical landscape. 3.5 out of 5.
