When the Skids split, Big Country got all the attention and plaudits for their rousing anthems and big sing-along choruses. Meanwhile Richard Jobson and Russell Webb (bass) teamed up with ex-Magazine and Banshees guitarist John McGeogh and ex-Magazine drummer John Doyle.

The result was the Armoury Show, as big and flamboyant sounding as any other band from the mid-80's. Why they never became huge is beyond me.

The 10 songs on this album deserve to be played LOUD at home, on the beach, in the car... If you're a fan of the Skids or Magazine and never heard the Armoury Show, you've missed out.
