The low rating thus far is probably because people voted after just one spin. Sharon Van Etten, however, isn't your average songwriter who writes songs to appeal to the masses. Her music contains an element that's similar to postrock, you'll never know what's waiting around the corner. Her albums are like movies. The weird, wicked and wonderful also meet each other in this album. Like a movie it's an experience you'll never forget, though you won't remember every script line you will remember what it was all about. Sharon is possessing the quality of displaying some tunes, amidst all the weirdness and gimmicks, that you will one day remember and makes you wonder where you heard that before. It's my third spin so far and I must say: It's yet another SVE classic. Sometimes a little too weird for my taste but that is her trademark for the albums. A total unique singer-songwriter in my opinion.
