This is an under-appreciated GEM.
Play It Again still sends shivers down my spine.

There is an alternate universe where Roderick Falconer became big instead of disco. In that universe music rarely uses sampler tracks, musicians still play instruments, rap music never existed, and rock bands sound like simulated orchestras with compositions of such musical genius that even animals and insects stop to listen.

That dimension will never be ours.

But it is fun to listen to New Nation and imagine what might have been. You can hear the Bowie-like quality to his style. "I want to know; all the heroes that we learned to love so well... where are they now? Can you tell me? For without them the future is no longer what it seemed to be."

Like the Roc-A-Billy of the 50's and the Classic Crunners of the 40's, this is a sound which will never be duplicated. The alter ego rock star of the 70's has gone on to a Rock-N-Roll wasteland with all its glitter, wild concept albums, and bizzare characters. I miss it. Then again... there is Lady Gaga
