How can a comedy be tongue-in-cheek? I don't mean a tongue-in-cheek comedy, but an undercurrent within the comedy that lifts is into something beyond comedy. Chickenman does it. Broadcast on some AM stations in the sixties, it took the absurdity of Firesign Theatre and added a Mel Blanc dimension where even the voices stand alone as funny. You need quiet to take it all in.
