Emitt Rhodes Rainbow Ends

Big fan of the Merry-Go-Round and Emitt Rhodes of 40-50 years ago. Collected everything from that period and hoped that one day he would produce more music. I jumped on this when it came out. What a disappointment. Aside from the weak compositions compared to those of decades before, the natural voice change that comes with age was no pleasant surprise. I will continue to enjoy the old stuff and regret that we couldn't get better from a kid who should have had a great career.

I was a big Merry-Go-Round and Emitt Rhodes fan in the late '60s and early '70s. For decades I have waited for more of his fantastic music.
This was not what I would have expected. In addition to his depressing lyrics and unimaginative melodies, his voice has changed dramatically!
I guess I enjoyed the output of a teenager and the mature version just didn't work for me.
I gave 2 stars only out of respect for his early genius.
