Dua is sensational. Saw her live in support of Bruno Mars, I didn't want her to go off. She is outstanding, powerful, raw and so creative, pretty good to look at too. I think this album is simply brilliant, 5 stars! But, the best song is Genesis, but not this version, catch up with it on Youtube, it's an Acoustic version that has jumped straight into my Top 20 songs of all time. So talented!

In today's chart music there are two division where there's very little inside, as it seems. On one hand we have Amy Winehouse, a comparison that's often made because of the vintage style of the music while the singers ae not even close to the vocal reach of Amy. There is also the electronic autotune voiced-pop music. Ultra-clean but lacking any kind of soul or emotion. Dua Lipa is one of the artists who is inbetween those worlds, closer to Amy than to the autotune-corner of the chart-music. I loved 'Be The One' immediately when I heard it, months before her breakthrough and had been looking forward to this album ever since, despite follow-up singles being less 'catchy' than 'Be The One'. A year later I must conclude that it wasn't what I expected, but then again... give 'Garden' a spin and suddenly you realize there's life after Amy Winehouse! Not the fake-vintage-feel but genuine emotion!
