Birth Born

Is this the same band as their previous offering, "Find"? The two are nothing alike.

in "Born", Birth seems to be trying to emulate the less-well-remembered Prog bands of the mid-'70s, down to the sound palettes of the synths. Alas, it's missing something.

None of its six tracks excite me. Perhaps it's my old ears, but the vocals seem acoustically buried. The melodies, eh, failed to make me want to hear more. It's as if the composers and producers phoned in their efforts.

Bottom line, this collection won't end up on my play list, and wouldn't inspire me to become a fan.
