It's a beautiful take on the country he done me wrong/ stand by your man staple. Only this time it was done by a powerful self, confident, beautiful, single mother to be,black woman. And she wasn't playing.

Never bought a Beyonce' album before now, but I appreciate the depth and subject matter of the songs. I like the strength that comes through and I dig the musical variety!

Have to agree with the comment below, come on Beyoncé you can do better than this! Almost like she can't be bothered, so just throw some bad language with repetitive boring melodies..

Sorry to all the Beyoncé fans out there but I really loathe this album! She's beautiful and has a great voice but that's where it ends for me. No originality whatsoever. The lyrics might well have been written by a 10 year old. Cannot distinguish her 'sound' from any other similar artists... What happened to the days when people had to actually possess genuine talent that matured with age. Nothing new here.

I have been a casual fan of Bey's for years. Even to the degree of never owning an entire CD of hers. This is the one, though! STRONG effort and potential classic.
